The Hanmer Springs Business Association (HSBA) exists to support, promote, and advocate for the local business community in Hanmer Springs. Its primary purpose is to foster a thriving, sustainable economy by encouraging collaboration among businesses, enhancing the village’s profile as a premier destination, and representing the collective interests of its members. Through marketing initiatives, networking opportunities, and active engagement with local and regional stakeholders, the HSBA works to ensure that Hanmer Springs remains a vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Our Strategic Focus
Our strategy is driven by six key focus areas, these are:
1. Communication
Enhance how we connect with members through clear, consistent, and engaging communications.
2. Membership
Grow and energise our member base by strengthening relationships, increasing face-to-face engagement, and building a business community that supports each other.
3. Advocacy
Represent the voice of local business. We’ll continue to engage proactively with Hurunui District Council and Hurunui Tourism, among others, to advocate for the needs and interests of HSBA members.
4. Training & Development
We will support and empower our members with practical skills and knowledge through regular workshops and training sessions on key topics like health and safety, AI, digital marketing, and business strategy.
5. Community Engagement
Support the wider Hanmer Springs community by actively participating in or supporting local events.
6. Sustainability
We will promote eco-friendly and sustainable business practices that align with Hanmer Springs’ wellness identity and strive to be a clean, green tourism destination.
